Trouble-free upgrade from Quickbooks 2008
on 21 April 2014
If you want accounting software for your small business, then you pretty much have a choice between Sage and Quickbooks. I went with Quickbooks 6 years ago, as it was cheaper than Sage and we had experience of it. One of the main reasons I upgraded to this version was because it supports flat-rate VAT.
I only use fairly basic functions in it - creating invoices, adding / paying bills, logging time and Mileage, tracking bank accounts, but it has worked flawlessly for me.
This latest version is similar enough to older versions for anyone familiar with it to feel instantly at home, but it also has some nice new features. The most useful of these is probably the shortcut bar down the left of the screen. This lets you add your most used functions to it for quick access.
The interface has generally been tidied a little, and a few things moved around a bit (not always for the better, but you soon get used to it)
