I disliked the broken jar. I did not have a chance to use the oil as after unwrapping it i noticed the jar was already broken and coming apart in my hands, tiny shards embedded in the oil. I had to throw it all away.
Very good quality coconut oil (raw and organic), I ordered it many times and always arrived promptly, well wrapped and perfectly sealed. I use it every day for cooking and also once a week as moituriser on my scalp and it's amazing how healthy my hair and scalp look and feel. Once I finish one jar I re-use it to put some spices or keep nuts and flaxseed. Also I discovered that soothes rashes, last summer we did lots of DIY and decorating around the house and garden and I got a nasty rash on my face, no idea what was the cause, dust, paint ... anyway my face was so sensitive that I could only wash it with water and then had to applied a tiny bit of coconut oil to sooth it and I couldn't believe that within 48 hours it was back to normal, even carrying on with the same level of dust/paint/sun. So I cannot say anything negative about this particular brand quality BUT... As I'm using it a lot I find it a bit pricey so I recently switched to another brand, equally good, but with an attractive introductory offer as well as an offer when you buy 2 500ml pack. I wish the company that sells this OPTIMA raw virgin coconut oil had better offers when you buy bulk, I was considering buying the 12 pack one ( but still you have to pay £5.80 per jar) and the one that I'm buying now it's slightly cheaper when you buy 2 and same quality and taste.
I use in my hair and on my face, it absorbs nicely and doesn't feel sticky. It does have quite a strong smell but you soon get use to it. The expiry date is Dec and I recieved in May, I don't see myself using the whole thing by then, would be good if they did a smaller jar too.
So if you have a little baby with any cracked skin or red marks (Nappie Rash) etc then usually you go for Tescos / Sainsburys own jars but what you find is there's is very wax feeling with minimum amount of oil the great thing about this oil is its very oily with minimum amount of the waxy consistency which is perfect and what you want.
Let's give this the Truth Unbox lowdown :
Pros : 1. Price point huge jar for a great price. 2. Consistency I know a lot will say Coconut oil is coconut oil but it really isn't many differences between brands and this is the best we have found.
Cons: No negatives could be found for this Jar of oil.
So to conclude this really is the best quality you can get at a great price so you really can't go wrong.
Item arrived very quickly. A lovely generous jar of coconut oil which smells really delicate and an excellent moisturising oil which sinks into the skin quickly. I'm pleased with this purchase and would certainly recommend it.
Decided to purchase on subscription to save some money as Holland and Barret were becoming over pricey and actually their delivery left a lot to be desired. No complaints! This is quality virgin coconut oil, large generous jar, well packaged, and ideal. I’m a heavy consumer so large jar will last a month but for light consumers this is going to last a while.
I buy a lot of coconut oil, and I have bought from many different brands. This one is in a glass jar and was wrapped in bubble wrap when it arrived in perfect condition. It smells amazing! No GM and 100% organic, which I love!! It's also cold pressed. You can use it in your cooking or as a skin care product, I will do both. I love coconut oil, I thought it was a little more expensive than some of my recent coconut oil purchases but it is so worth it when you're getting good quality.
Good price. No complaints. Have actually bought for our dogs and cats to help with their hair and skin. The cats aren’t keen but the dogs lick it off a spoon (1-2 teaspoon daily) there are many used for coconut oil and this is a great product. Would recommend.
