A delightful story
on 1 August 2013
This is a well written book that tells the story of love growing between two older women (almost 50 and almost 70) whilst on a coach tour in Italy. The story builds slowly but that's not a criticism - the pace is just right. The repressed Fiona fighting her attraction to the older and charismatic Kale. the descriptions of the scenery and the architecture are very well done and provide a very romantic background. The story keeps moving and you just want to keep on reading to find out how it ends. There are many twists and turns and its very romantic and sensual. If you want a book full of erotic sex scenes this isn't the book for you. This is more of a romance, (there are one or two sex scenes in there) a story of awakening, love and trust which is sensual and very much in the same vein as the classic 'Curious Wine'.
There are one or two continuity slips but these don't distract from the story and the awakening between the two women. I read this book in two sittings and didn't want to put it down, at some points it makes you laugh out loud and is refreshingly set in the UK (with a large chunk of Tuscany thrown in).
It's well worth a read - buy it you wont regret it.
