Go behind the scenes to learn the back stories to the backup singers you never met, but who made the songs you love sound so great. From the earliest beginnings to Merry Clayton's iconic & game-changing solo on the Stones' "Gimme Shelter" and beyond, this is a not-to-be-missed feast for everyone who loves the music of the '60's and '70's. Highest recommendation.

Was really looking forward to watching this after all the glowing reviews. Love the music, but documentary was disjointed and didn't go into anyone's story deep enough. Was not sure who it was supposed to be about and might have worked better as a straightforward biography of two or three of the singers. No mention of money -- but sure that is a big issue with these singers.

Somewhat overlong and too celebratory in tone, one got little idea of the real women: shame because the singers featured are feisty, earthy, wise and rather wonderful...

Brilliant film, focusing on some truly amazing singers who have remained (seldom by choice) unrecognised. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
