A very interesting read the author must have had a great deal of patience in researching the history.having attended the grammar school and played rugby on the playing field I have never heard of an elephant having been buried beneath the playing surface.you learn something every day.

A very good read and well researched. The book brought to life the turmoil of the time in France, and the hardships that the troops went through in WW1.
