Not a story as such, just details from this soldiers diary blossomed up with M. O. D. official comments. None the less interesting to see and feel what this person and others went through during WW2.

A fantastic journey, enjoyed every page. Shame no photos of RM or of the places he travelled were used to enhance the the otherwise very readable account of his ww2 journey

Very interesting read because my Dad also did some DR work after D-Day. Very detailed giving an insight of events of how the invasion of Europe progressed. Well worth a read.

What a great read, even though with hindsight's rose tinted spectacles it seems like a long jolly rather than the
dangerous and uncomfortable expeience it must have been.

This is the first story I have seen in print of WW2 despatch riders and it was a fascinating read , the dangers they faced getting messages through, a great easy read .

Would recommend it
Detail draws you in. A lot of the descriptions are interesting, I did find it bored me on occassion. but this was not too much of a problem.

Interesting book, paints the picture that other books do not by not being directly in the front line all the time. It tells the story from a different viewpoint.

A very so so book that tells one mans story of his part in the second world war, not a particularly inspiring account, worth read if you have nothing better to do

A well written and very interesting account of a Royal Marine Despatch Rider. Good reading for military historians and researchers of the Second World War.
