This is an excellent analysis of the Alexander Technique by a leading authority. As well as covering the expected background of F.M. Alexander and what the technique is Jeremy focuses on working on yourself without the aid of a teacher. This is covered in far more depth than is usual in most books on the technique.
The book also contains an outline of the various teaching lineages which is very useful as the technique has been passed down from teacher to pupil who then becomes teacher in the same manner as knowledge was passed down from generation to generation. There are therefore inevitable significant differences in approach.
The book will be useful to experienced students and teachers as well as beginners as this is a very well written work with depth and originality.
