A good book, arrived in excellent condition, a book that once you start you don't want to put it down

Very interesting book, although I thought Ettington Part Hotel was in Warwickshire and not Worcestershire. (At least it was when I stayed there and not a ghost in sight!!).

I was hoping that this would be an in-depth study of the paranormal activity often associated with the canals and waterways of Britain, but I personally found the book disappointing. Much of the content is folkloric in style, simply recycling old-fashioned legends of the headless horseman and watery wraith variety and related in a rather flat, reporting style reminiscent of many ghost story books of yesteryear. Some of the tales consist only of a single brief paragraph and therefore are rather superficial. However, in all fairness to the author other tales are dealt with in more detail and there is a fair amount of historical background provided. Unfortunately, for me, the book failed to capture my imagination.
