I gave Misbehaving 3.5 Stars.
Misbehaving is the story of Jason Stone, brother to the famous Jax Stone and this time we meet bad girl Jess. I immediately liked Jess, I’m always one for the underdog in a story and the opening chapter proved Jess was a feisty chick and someone Jason Stone wasn’t prepared for.
I was surprised by Jason’s character, we knew very little about him up until this point and I expected him to be a clean cut, quiet boy. Jason had quite the dirty mouth on him and he loved taking possession of Jess. This was a very pleasant surprise.
“Don’t flirt with me, Jess. I already want you. Flirting just makes it worse.”
Jess and Jason faced many obstacles in their relationship together. Jason couldn’t commit to anything serious and Jess was insecure as she was used to men taking from her. I felt there was too much drama going on for them. It seemed they were apart more in the story than they were together and it stopped me feeling their relationship. There was a time jump in the middle when they were apart, then Krit was involved in a semi triangle and then a major even happened towards the end. For the number of pages the story had, I would have loved a better quality of relationship and therefore when the major drama happened at the end I would have been invested in them more.
Don’t get me wrong, Misbehaving was a good read, it’s just my personal tastes that left me wanting more. The star of the show for me was Jess but I must say, I wish they had an epilogue, as I love seeing a little bit farther down the road.
If you are a fan of the Sea Breeze series then you will love Jess and Jason’s story. ~Ava
