Not the best for experienced photopraphers
on 26 September 2014
It's an odd mix between an expanded Nikon D7100 User Guide and a more general guide to photographic techniques in general.
If you want a "go to" manual which has improved explanation over the standard user guide, this isn't really it.
Some sections are just on technique with no references to how or why the explanations are relevant to the D7100 (because they aren't usually). However, some of the technique sections then refer to how you would use the technique on the D7100 - that is useful.
The book is good and has its uses, but if you want a better explained version of the User Guide that you can use to look up how to operate a specific control, look elsewhere. From using D7000 for Dummies, I assume D7100 for Dummies would be a good choice if its similar.
All D cameras at this level take a long of understanding so this book could add to your knowledge base and I bet any non-pro will find some nuggets of advice in here that may serve them well. But I am surprised how well reviewed it has been to date, remembering that 3* is "OK" 4* is "Like it" and 5* is "love it"
