I bought 2sets of these suitcases over a year ago. We (2adults and 3children)were travelling on a budget airlines flight part way with a change in Europe for our onward flight to America. As you know we were only permitted to carry hand luggage of 10kg per person or incur a hefty fee for checking in baggage. I can think of better ways to spend that money. I decided that the best way around the problem was to get some light weight suitcases so I could pack enough clothes etc for the whole family without going over the weight limit.

To be honest I didn't expect a great deal from these cases when I ordered them, given the price I paid-worked out at less than £10 per case. When they arrived I was shocked to see how small the package was, given that there were 4 of them. They were made from a tough cloth like material and when empty were incredibly flat and light weight. Less than 1.5kg each, which leaves more than 8.5kg of clothes etc. Most other cabin bags weigh on average about 3.5kg which cuts a hefty chunk out if your total allowance.

We were travelling for 14 days so I had quite a lot of clothes to pack. I was dubious as to whether I would get everything in, but these little cases can take a lot and being constructed from cloth like material, they expand and bulge nicely, without looking like they are about to burst at the seams. I managed to pack enough for everyone, including some woolens. The zips were good and the zips allowed a padlock to be attached. There was also a smaller zip pocket on the outside which surprisingly when opened, extended all the way to the bottom of the case, thus allowing extra bits and bobs, like children's books, colouring pens and sweets to be put in without putting pressure on the main case. I also put my passport and small purse in there, as it had a double zip with allowance to put a padlock on.

They travelled well. I agree with some of the other reviewers, that the pull out handle was a little on the short side for my husband but perfect for me. They were easy to pull along and both my ,7 year old and 5 year old manged with ease. I was only expecting them to last one trip and even for that they would have been well worth it. However,to my great surprise, I have now taken them on 4 overseas trips and numerous train journeys. Apart from minor fraying of the material on the corners, they are as good as new. Best cases I've ever bought. Even the more expensive ones I have bought in the past haven't lasted so long.

As I mentioned when empty they are more or less completely flat. I often pack then in a larger suitcase when going abroad, especially if I know I'll be doing quite a bit of shopping!

I'll definitely be buying more if these when and if these fabulous cases break.
Highly recommended.

I have added a few photos and a short video to this review, to show you the condition of the case after several trips and how much you can pack in there. The video shows clothes for my 3 children for a 7 day trip, with room left for underwear. Hope it helps.

We purchased these because of their light weight, as we were restricted to 7kg for hand luggage. When we first unpacked them I thought no way were they suitable or big enough for what we needed them for. Very pleasantly surprised. We wanted something that fitted the size requirements and to hold clothes, shoes etc for 5 full days away, and it did!
Ordered for the requirement size for hand luggage for an Air Asia flight. Hold a lot more than you think, strong, flexible, light weight and perfect for us. The only downside is the length of the pulling handle. When fully extended, it is made for a shorter person than us, we're 5ft 10 and had to bend to pull it so we ended up carrying it instead.
A great purchase for us and we recommend.

Great value for money but need to place down on back or lean against something or it will fall over.

Purchased for a city break with a budget airline. Wanted a matching pair - happy SWMBO. Arrived in good time and survived the trip, seems to have a lot of life it, yet to use for 5 cities but will see. Not found issues with the zips or wheels as others reviews. Very capacious and lots was stored inside, not the lightest available but less than most for this size of bag. Only disappointments are that sometimes it does have a mind of it's own and seems to turn around easily, especially when you don't want it to and the handle could do with being longer, but as we held it closer to ourselves this assisted in alleviating the problem a bit. Was wrapped in a plastic bag and arrived in a box. Shame the black was not the same excellent price - how this works out is a mystery.

Well made with strong material and have a good capacity. They do lack having elastic straps inside to keep clothes in place and tidy. Also they could do with a solid base as when full they can fall over unless rested against something. However would recommend as great value for money. Xxx

Brilliant for carry on flight bag, plenty of room although you have to watch how you pack as they dont stand up. The old saying you get what you pay for, dont expect a £50 bag here, it is very simple and cheaply made but does the job. I was very pleased.

Bought them to use on Ryanair, have used once so far. Since they have a soft shell you can shove more a more things inside it, and even when looking very full will fit on the luggage measurement things at the airport (with a little push!). When empty they barely occupy any space, which is another plus.

On the negative side I am not sure whether they will last long, but for this price we cannot ask too much! Another negative side, my boyfriend is 1.84m tall and he struggles pulling these as the handle comes too short for him to walk comfortably. I'm 1.60m and I don't any any problems on that matter.

Bought these to use as hand luggage on a Thomas Cook flight. I spent hours reviewing cases of this type, so I was a little nervous about their quality based on other people's experiences, but I don't have any complaints. I don't think they'd take endless amounts of travel, but they'll do us for hand luggage, they steer much better than my weekend bag does, and they are very spacious. I would definitely recommend these, and the two case offer for £21 was really good value for money. Because my husband wanted a manly black one and I wanted a patterned one, we compromised, and I took a tube of fabric paint to my blue case and have personalised the front of it, so everyone's happy!!

I was worried that these wouldn't arrive in time but they did and I think they are great. Very lightweight and seemed to stand up to quite a lot of pulling and pushing. Not as sturdy as our old ones but certainly up to the job. Excellent value.

Really good value for money. Just taken them away and they were fab. Bought to replace much more expensive ones and these are way better! With them being so lightweight, they are not the sturdiest cases, but for use as cabin baggage, they more than adequately do the job.
