Wow this guy sure knows how to move you very emotional album up there with the likes of Burial, scratchy glitch breaks and warping techno. My fav track has to be Open Eye Signal has amazing soundscapes and the last two minutes he brings the funkiness in. Bought it on iTunes though £4.99. This guy is someone to look out for well worth a listen.

This is a double CD, consisting of the unadulterated album ('Immunity') and a CD maxi-single/EP ('Asleep versions', with four new mix versions of tracks in 'Immunity' totalling another 25 mins of music). The new mixes are chill, minimal, occasionally beautiful, and entirely listenable -- abt 3.5 stars overall. But they're not essential like the original album, which is extraordinary (5 stars) [please consult the previous reviews for that original release]. It really is another ruse by the industry to plonk down again for the same offering, with a few extra tracks. The extra CD sits in the other side of the gatefold cover, and, like the original LP, has its own sleeve. No other changes. Is it worth it (at time of writing, 8 quid)? Marginally, if you're a completist and if only because the original album is so excellent: one could always give the extra disc as modest gift. But why not sell the 'Asleep versions' CD for just a few quid?

Wonderful varied album - a lot going on. Great on a good system. Asleep EP included.

Good, but not his best. Insides, Contact Note, and Late Night tales are better.

Such is the top quality of Immunity that I ended up purchasing his back catalogue too and I now have over 3.5 hours of quality, interesting, changing music on repeat!
Immunity opening reminds me of Burial but then it soon becomes a happier version of Burial. The other albums are down differing roads but all amazing too.
It seems Jon Hopkins is another of the UK's hidden geniuses. Perhaps he would like to keep it that way though?
