Entirely produced by himself this is the first solo work to come from the unique voice that helped make the seminal SBTRKT release back in 2011.
This EP is just 17 minutes long and leaves you wanting much much more from an artist who many have already been waiting a long time to flourish. The exciting thing about this EP is that Sampha is doing his own thing, clearly not tempted to lavish his vocals in the off beat post-dubstep sounds that propelled him into the limelight.
Instead, Sampha's intimate offering is a dash of acoustic gospel that speaks of honesty and suitably matches his heart-wrenching voice. Stand outs are the tear-jerking 'Can't Get Close' written for and about his late father and the melodramatic but sweeping optimism of 'Indecision' (which I cannot stop playing).
