Disappointing post-apocalyptic Saga
5 September 2018
This book sounded interesting and it started out well; world-wide illness that kills people, only the few are left to re-build civilisation;we've all seen it, subject of many films, etc. The book's 'hero' has spent three weeks in a remote cabin, so he's O.K. The trouble for me was, the book descended after a while into an orgy of violence and gun-fire. The 'hero' is a lawman, so has plenty of access to firearms. The villans are all comic-book criminals, intent on causing mayhem. The heroine is a beautiful doctor, who falls for the hero despite his propensity for literally shooting anyone and everyone who doesn't give him the right answer ("Sorry Marshall, I'll be good from now on").
Maybe the title should have alerted me, but then, I'm not American and gunlaw is quite alien to most of us in the U.K.
I won't be reading any others in the series.
