Love this record, for starters it's recorded with analog tape and it does give it that extra something sonically in my opinion. Great rocking riffs and melody hooks with a dash of jazz pizazz at times along with great solo sections in most tracks that take you on a journey but doesn't leave you losing attention if your not one for long solos as these guys communicate musically really well with amazing musicality from every member and drumming from Tool band member Danny Carey in the concoction that brings it all together in a spontaneous, soulful way. An overall upbeat record but with some beautiful slower sections such as Whopner and I'm calm now, all songs have a lot of texture to it all, well written pieces of music and performed with a raw edge that keep it all flowing naturally, most songs were apparently recorded in 1 take as a live band setup and it makes a great "on the edge" impact in the solo sections especially. Love good instrumental music? Buy this and enjoy, I was learning riffs on the guitar from this album the first day I got it!
