Surman Osborne and Skidmore (SOS) was a short lived collective that formed in the early 1970s. All three musicians carried a well deserved individual reputation and together were superb. Previously the only commercial example of their work was on an out of print LP on the Ogun label. There appeared on a couple of BBC jazz programs and then went their separate ways. The SOS LP has now been re released on CD and we also have this excellent double CD of live recordings in Europe. The sound quality is good the playing is clear, lively and the music constantly interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommended
