I have owned this concert since it came out in America on NTSC VHS and had it converted to PAL, but having watched it hundreds of times on VHS and then DVD I have seen things today I have never seen before.
Eagle Vision have done a first class job with the conversion to Blu Ray and with the editing too, the previous versions have had crowd scenes from Special from the Spectrum mixed in.
Also this is the first time the whole concert has been available and in the correct running order.
This is a must buy for any Dio fan or any lover of rock who wants to see how it should be done.
Now if we can have the Dream Evil tour next please life would be complete.
Long live Rock and Roll and rip RJD. We miss you.

Having owned the VHS version for many years and many other live Dio dvds I think this is superior!
The first gig I ever saw was Dio on the UK leg of this tour so to see and hear the experience in high quality brings back many memories!!
Considering it's taken from 16mm film the quality is superb, especially the sound, clear as crystal Craig Goldy's guitar playing in particular benefits.the master's voice itself Ronnie James Dio is fantastic, the best voice ever heard in rock and metal he take you on journeys with his melodies and lyrics.Of course it's slightly dated with all musicians having individual solo efforts-Claude Schnell keyboard solo even!
You don't see rocks shows like this anymore-Iron Maiden aside-with spectacular lasers and pyros, but with Dio we get the added treat of a 12ft Dragon, sadly it doesn't breathe fire ,and is too easily defeated by Ronnie lol. The show is far from nostalgia though ,the band are tight and highlights are songs like Sacred Heart, the storming encore of We Rock and the Black Sabbath medley of Heaven and Hell fused with Last in Line.
The best line up of Dio,who only lasted one more album together, so this serves as the band in it's peak,Ronnie Dio will remain in rock fans hearts for ever and there will never be another singer as good. Not the oldest performance of Dio on video but I think the best.

Great video and sound but show gets bit boring with all the solos..few extra songs should have been included..band sounded great though.

...I've been so looking forward to the release of this concert in its entirety, like so many I already own the 1hr edit. The picture, the sound (just out of the TV) & the whole performance (of course!) is simply awesome by comparison... BUT (you knew it was coming didn't you?) from the very opening the soundtrack keeps going out of sync, poor Claude Schnell looks demented at times during his solo hammering the keys split seconds in-front/behind the notes, a huge disappointment & very annoying... RJD & Disappointment are two things I don't associate together!. Ronnie, I wish you were still here to have sorted this out because someone has sold you short... However if you were, we wouldn't have to rely on product like this, we'd be able to attend another quality show & see a DIO at one & in sync with his audience! God Bless...

I think there may never be another who would come near Dio when it comes to hard rock and metal vocals in the classic style !
The bluray has a dated feel, good sound though ....quality of music is great !....some may feel that 'NOW' the fire breathing dragon, laser swords and the castle may look a bit silly
