While these are indeed excellent adapters, they have a somewhat deeper profile than a standard SD card.

As a result, when an RPi has one of these installed, the board will not always fit in the cases, depending on just how the board is aligned with the bottom/side of the case/slot. The added depth of the microSD socket is enough to stop the board sitting on the case internal supports.

Caveat Emptor.

This item is very good quality. The sort of quality you wish the Raspberry Pi's own SD card slot had, but doesn't.

I prefer this style to the traverse style of similar Pi card adaptors because it can be inserted and *never* removed again.
The push/push style saves you the fiddly operation of trying to pull a microSD card with your fingernails.

Only buy this for the Pi, and even then, only if your case has clearance around the slot, or can be modified, because it's double the height, and still protrudes slightly from the board edge.

A bit expensive for what it is, but will surely save the Pi's cheap plastic SD socket from being ripped off by the leverage of a full length SD card.

Bought for use in a Raspberry Pi.
A great idea, but unfortunately in all the cases I have, the additional thickness (the holder for the micro-SD card) means that the circuit board no longer fits in the case properly.

Before you buy one, see if raising the circuit board in its case will cause a problem.

A big shame.

good for rpi. haven't tested in anything else. hides card from knocks and eyes. height of board means prob won't fit in anything else.

Works great if your Pi is bare. I have two different Pi cases. This fits in one but is just a little too large for the other.
The case that doesn't quite fit is the ModMyPi model B case.
The case this fits in is the One Nine Design case.
If you don't mind shaving the bottom of the ModMyPi case it might be convinced to fit.

Not much to say except that it just works, your micro-sd card will still stick out a little bit (1mm) but this is great if you use a casing, you can then still remove the card without the need to open up the casing.

Does what it says on the tin. 3 stars because it is thicker than I expected which makes it tricky to fit in some Pi cases.
