This is just the latest in a long line of brilliant albums by a man who is surely one of the great undiscovered masters of the blues. If he was black and from Chicago he would be a legend, but he's white and from New York City. Popa has an enormous body of work and there isn't a weak album among it. Brilliant song writer, fantastic singer and blistering guitar player. There are only a few artists in my life that have knocked me out on first hearing them, and this guy is one of them.
Popa Chubby's latest release, 2013. If you like and know Popa Chubby's previous albums, you will not be disappointed with his latest offering. Full of great 'Hendrix' type guitar sounds, as well as his original take on 'Over The Rainbow'. My favourite track is the uplifting, almost spiritual feeling to it, track 2, 'I Ain't Giving In'. If you're ever feeling blue and you want to feel better, give it a listen.
You know what you will get with Poppa Chubby , solid vocals good blues guitar and song writing but often you will get the inevitable cover which you will either like or dislike. Personally I feel another good album post a couple I was not so enamoured with
