Great quality (of course), fit for purpose, fits up to 4.7 cm wide doors

It was difficult to find something that fits my 4.7 cm wide doors. Most product descriptions are ambiguous and many reviews say things like "fits my wide doors really well" or "fits a standard door" -- which is next to useless information to potential buyers -- I have no idea what a standard door means. My doors are 4.5 cm wide and 4.7 cm wide and this hook fits both, although it is a bit of a squeeze getting it onto the 4.7 cm width door, but it does go on and therefore is a snug fit and will not wiggle around once on, and will not come off without sufficient effort (which is a good thing, because you want it to be a snug, flush fit and not wiggle when you open the door or put something on the hook). I think that trying to get it onto a 4.8 cm wide door would be wishful thinking though, but maybe it can be done with sufficient effort. The rubbery coating on the back of the over-door part and on the tip of the internal gripper (the grey parts) clearly help because you can push/slide the hook onto the door and pull it off the door, both without scratching the door.
I conducted a short experiment for potential buyers, which might help:
1) Apparatus: 1.9 cm wide piece of wood AND a wooden wedge door stop with a width gradient from 1 mm to 2.6 cm.
2) Method: Tested how the product fits over the range of widths from 2.0 cm to 4.5 cm.
3) Results: For a permanent solution it is OK for doors wider than 3.5 cm. But the wider the door, the more snug is the fit and you will get less potential wiggling around. As a temporary solution, valet use/when ironing, etc, then would be OK for for doors wider than 2.8 cm.
4) Conclusion: Best for use on doors wider than 3.5 cm (and based on my own doors, no more than 4.7 cm).
I was at first skeptical about the grey rubbery detail because I wanted an all-metal look, but the benefits of this product far outweigh that particular visual detail -- I'd rather have the grey rubber and a versatile over-door hook, than scratched doors or nothing at all.
I also like that if you have something hanging on the single hook before you pull the valet extension down, it will stay on the single hook whilst (and after) you pull the valet extension down, no need to remove it.
It is great quality, of course, as you would expect from this brand. I have just ordered a second one.
I would add that this product does not, for me, replace a laterally-spaced 4-hook over-door all-chrome hanger (two of which I also bought from Amazon -- see my other reviews) which serve a slightly different purpose. Both this OXO valet hook and the laterally-space hooks are excellent and together fit for purpose.
