I have used borrowed smart phones in the past but had a mixed opinion. This is the first I have bought for myself and having gotten used to it in a fairly quick time I thought I had used it enough to give a review.
The screen is very responsive
Battery life for my level of usage means charging every two or three days
build is reassuringly sturdy but I would certainly recommend investing in a protective film for the screen as it doesn't come with an initial protective film
The camera is quite modest but actually quite good - The free Nokia Camera Beta app gives a good degree of control on things such as focus, white balance, exposure and iso. There is no flash or second lens for selfies (not necessarily a bad thing)
Windows 8 is really well implemented on this device (I hated Windows 8 on a laptop); in terms of apps I suspect this will lack the depth of apps for android or apple but I have to say the ones that came preloaded are pretty good and I have loaded a number of free apps from the Nokia site and been impressed by the quality. I like the built in maps and the app that identifies tunes especially.
In short I think this phone is hard to beat at this price level and if, like me, you have come to smart phones somewhat reluctantly this would serve as a soft landing in the mobile phone minefield.

For little money it works well. Windows software, good camera. It will not suit those who are used to having 2 cameras.
