I'm pleased she wrote it
on 4 November 2013
I'm pleased the author found the confidence to write this so I'm certainly pleased for her.
But it's really not a self help book as such, other than sometimes paraphrasing more sophisticated books on the subject without giving any real method. It feels more built around the philosophy that seems to indicate that going out clubbing/drinking a lot and life's problems will be solved, which of course in the short term is probably true if you're young enough! In the long term though, I have my doubts about that.
I feel the author has written a book about how she's managing to make up for lost time from her own youth, more than giving some good clear headed advice on making long term plans for happiness for mature adults.
With all that said, it is heart felt, happiness is what you make of it, and I'm always pleased to read about someones personal success, so on that basis I'm glad I read it as a story, if not as a method of achieving contentment in the long term.
