Time can do more than fly.
on 17 February 2013
Alice nips out to the shops for an hour and comes home to find a year has passed. How could that happen? Where has she been and what's been happening? Her 3-month-old son is now a toddler, her husband might be having an affair with her best friend and Alice has no memory of anything since last year. Has she been drugged? Held prisoner? Or is she simply going mad?
Not knowing who to trust and confounded by officialdom when she looks for help, Alice flees before she can be locked away. Should she go home? Dare she go home?
Hooper gets into the head of this frustrated and confused young mother with details that convince the reader completely. The fear of losing yourself - the horror of missing the most precious year of your child's life.
A gripping psychological drama from a promising new writer. I await her next book with high expectations.
