TAKES THE EFFORT OUT OF USING A SAW BUT MAYBE NOT AS ACCURATE AS A REGULAR SAW.

Ok, I'd always considered these kind of saws as a lazy man tool. I mean, if you can use a saw, which incidentally you can buy at a fraction of the price, why would you want to?
Well, it makes short work of the job, thats why. it takes the effort out of it. It is also possible to change the blades to match the material you are sawing through. So all in all it is an easy to use bit of kit.
I have used it for decking, drain pipe and some aluminium, then cutting back tree branches, cutting through tree roots and it has proved quite versatile.
However, I still think that I can be more accurate with a plain old hand saw, less weight and better to manoeuvre. There are disadvantages if you need to move around a narrow gap or small space.
At the end of the day, it has enough power for my requirements, feels solid and dependable, blades can be changed to suit the material you are cutting and over all it does a good job. Even when doing some extended work on a tree the motor didn't get too warm.
As with all tools, it has some limitations and can't do everything a variety of hand saws can do but it does get close to it, just a shame it doesn't come with a variety of useful blades. Good value in the Black Friday sales though.
