So bad....it's good
on 15 October 2013
If you are expecting a film that is "treacherous, terrific and savage" (I quote FilmonDVD.net from the front of the box) you will be sorely disappointed. Do not buy this film with the expectation that it is anything other than truly terrible, however that said it is so jaw-droppingly bad that you find yourself enjoying it on a whole different level to that intended.
By the end and at the final battle scene my sides were literally hurting as the film's climatic moment resembled my young sons play group. Too many wonderful scenes to cover here, from the "alluring" belly dancers to the vast array of exotic furs, variable crew numbers, wonderful moustaches and those dazzling displays of fearsome sword play.
Without darkness there can be no light and without Rise of the Vikings you'd never be able to tell your friends when you watch a bad movie in the future "this film's not crap, it's certainly not the worst I've seen, you should see Rise of the Vikings..."
