So the 26th annual royal rumble looked like a juicy pay per view line up with the rock vs cm punk and the rumble match it's self as headliner how could it fail? Well it performed over 500,000 buys for the first time since 2008 but as a wrestling event well I'll get to that stage right now!

Alberto del rio vs the big show-whc (7/10)
I felt this was an enjoyable opener it provided some good big moments like the choke slam off the set etc. but the screwy rehash finish downs the number abit and they had already done a last man standing match a few weeks before so it was like a meh seen this before stuff. Credit where it's due both men did there best and even though he is a heel now, as a wrestler del rio is one of the best,as a personality not so much. To sum up the opener it's good for what it is and is enjoyable while it lasts.

Team hell no vs team Rhodes scholars-tag titles(5/10)
Again much like the opener it's good while it lasts and they get some good flow going but it is what it is and that is just a run of the mill tag match, all four men do good with the lack of time but this match is nothing more than a look at your phone until the big matches happen kind of match.

The royal rumble match (8/10)
To be honest this was actually very enjoyable to watch with some great big moments that created a perfect main event atmosphere! It was bizarre to see the match relegated to the semi final spot but then again the rock was on the show, with the match it's self there was always something going on but the one drag back was the predictability factor I.e the winner. Who ever disbelieved cena wasn't going to win? Even before the pay per view everyone new cena was going to win. But with that little downside this is defiantly a good addition to the rumbles!

The rock vs cm punk-wwe (7/10)
This match was overhyped like no tomorrow which can be a good thing if it can live up to the hype but this match could not. On the flip side the match was very good, sure it had its rest periods but the atmosphere was electric akin to the original attitude era rock matches he had the crowd going. The finish was screwy with the peoples elbow but people make way to much of a big deal out of it,they had wrestled for 20 plus minutes I didn't see it as much of a problem. But again the drawback was the predictability after cena won the rumble it was guaranteed rocky would win! So in all if you take away the over hype and build and predictability of this match you have yourself a very good main event.

So to sum up the rumble take away the predictably and the over hype and you have yourself a good event go and see it it's worth the watch!

Not the best Royal Rumble PPV but still a must have. The matches are passable (even the CM Punk vs. The Rock) but nothing special. The Royal Rumble itself is fine (gotta love Kofi Kingston) even if the winner who goes to main event Wrestlemania 29 is predictable.

2012s 25th anniversary Royal Rumble was a massive letdown lacking match quality and suprises, but this years Rumble has a real big event feel to it. Only fair considering its WWE's second biggest PPV of the year.
Suprisingly there are only four matches on the card but they range from good to excellent.
We open with a SUPERB last man standing match for the World Heavyweight championship between Alberto Del Rio and The Big Show. Whilst Show has his critics, he is on a roll at the moment with his PPV matches. Great spots, a good crowd and an excellent ending made this a great opener.
Second is the tag team titles match, The Rhode Scholars Vs Team Hell No. The most forgettable match of the night, but solid tag team action.
Next up oddly is the Rumble itself and I thought it was a fantastic Rumble with a couple of genuinely unexpected and amazing surprise entrants. The match was very well paced, tense with seriously memorable moments (Zack Ryders head first elimination, Kofi using a chair as a pogo stick) and was a huge improvement on last years. The only thing that ruined the enjoyment was how obvious it was who would win it this year.
The main event was right up my street. CM Punk Vs The Rock for the WWE Championship. I'm a huge Rock fan and enjoy anything that reminds me of The Attitude Era so I will always support him and I'm buzzing to have him back in the title picture. A far better match than Rock Vs Cena at Mania, with an ending I absolutely loved.
2013 is off to an amazing start.
Watching this PPV on DVD will never have the excitement of watching it live with a few mates and a pizza at 1am, and the cover itself ruins the outcome, but this is PG Era WWE at its very very best- a GREAT show.
The Road To Wrestlemania is officially underway and I love it.
