Better that I expected
on 3 March 2015
An ok watchable movie. I would have given it 3.5 stars really, so it is on the right side of OK to Good. I round it up as they managed to make a good movie on a much smaller budget, than the average Hollywood block buster that make an Ok movie with a much higher budget. I think that deserves a round up. The main reason it lost one star for me was they made the story overly complicated and a couple of silly mistakes here and there just added up.
Aaron Eckhart plays Ben Logan, who as far as his daughter knows is the man who abandoned her and her mother years ago, and is the uninvolved "parent" who is always late or does not turn up at all to her events. However when their life is seemingly erased over night she learns there is more to her father then she thought. I have to say I like her reaction to this revelations, I think that is how a real teenager would react to the situation. There are no real breakthrough performances from any of the cast but the cast do a good job and are believable as their characters. This is a good, watchable move despite the fact that is not boasting any major star power.
