Great album - just terrible mastering - worse I've ever heard on a new release.

Firstly, I don't have the EPs, i knew the singles but still came to this album with an open mind having read some rather mixed customer reviews.
For the songs themselves I would give 5 * - but the mastering is just awful - but more of that later. There is is just no filler track on here I don't really like. Yes - some are growers, a few remind me very much of Third Eye Blind (90s rock fans might recognize) and so not strikingly original, but this is a very eclectic, highly melodic album that creates its own dynamic as much as it borrows other sounds. Great singles aside, love 'Hear Me' (very Killerseque), 'Bleeding Out' and break-up song 'Nothing Left To Say' especially.
BUT - the mastering is terrible - truly terrible. The levels are all wrong and played on a half decent stereo system sound distorted beyond being listenable. I end up turning the album right down. Frustratingly it is at the very worse on 'Demons' and 'Radioactive' - my two favourite tracks. I am hoping one day the band will rectify this and release a high quality re-mastered version of this. It is sad as I have all but given up listening to this CD and it could have been one of my most played CDs and it has put me off buying another album of theirs :(
Look forward to seeing live at Brixton - I suspect they make for a great live act too!
