There have been at least 3 other multi-CD sets of Jones' Starday/Mercury recordings from 1954-1961 - "Ragged But Right" on Fantastic Voyage, "Early Years" on Golden Stars,& "Seven Classic Albums" on Real Gone. This one is sloppily produced, with tracks from United Artists in error, no notes or discographical information. There are several photos on the inlays, but they are from much later times than the music. Sound quality is fine, so I guess this is best described as "cheap & cheerful". It's not intended to compete with Bear Family sets (please, Richard, consider a complete box set) and is fine for its market, the casual collector who may not have much of Jones' material from the 50's. The best of these reissue sets so far is the Fantastic Voyage which has good notes, a discography, and a few alternate takes.
