Interesting collection on vinyl of a band I first came across in the mid 90's. Has others have mentioned I also think the Sharon Tandy version of Hold On is a better version and its a shame its not been included here. Would be nice to get a re-release from acid jazz of the Sharon Tandy single from 1967 – "Stay with Me" / "Hold On" (Atlantic 584 124) .

Long lost track You've Got to Earn It is worth the price of the CD/LP alone. Overall, the track selection and sequencing works far better than the long available Reflections CD compilation and paints a more accurate picture of a band that should/could have been up there alongside The Who, at least for a brief few months in the mid-60s. Importantly, You've Got to Earn It (the album) includes the band's original version of Wait For Me, not Jimmy Page's completely different version (the story of which is included in the excellent sleeve notes to this new FdL compilation).

can i just point out it should be the fleurs de lys ? But apart from betraying their lack of french grammar , the fleurs don't put a foot wrong on this . Perhaps the only fault is the omission of the Sharon Tandy sung version of Hold On , in favour of the band's own vocalisations . But the best thing about this album is that , although I knew some of the songs , I'd never been tempted by any of the Fleurs' previous comps . This album has opened my ears to some previously unknown top 60s quality .

Why are some of the tracks from singles featured here not included such as 'Hammerhead' the flip of 'Gong with the Luminous Nose' ? The other CD by this band has more tracks but annoyingly this CD features tracks not on that CD as well. Can we have a comprehensive collection please so we can save space and money .....

I have their other disc and the sound quality is far superior. The sound on this disc is very thin and not at all dynamic.
