This is a fantastic series. Well acted, well written, and extremely interesting. It portrays Danish life through the eyes of a group of characters whose lives are interlinked, from the late forties to the early seventies. I really recommend it.
This is quite simply a brilliant series. Everything about it is superb. The storylines, the way the story develops, the characters both individually and as an ensemble. The past has been very realistically recreated, which is quite an achievement given how many outdoor scenes there were. A number of years ago there was another Danish TV series called Matador. This series became one virtually the whole Danish nation loved. Krøniken covers a later period but is equally excellent. For British viewers I can only say that if your enjoyed Upstairs Downstairs, you must surely enjoy Krøniken. I have just finished watching the box set for the fourth time since I first saw the series. It is wonderful.
