This Radio Gold series is really very good. There are lots of 50s and 60s compilations, mostly offering mind numbingly similar tracks. This Radio gold series hits the spot. I have to confess, I bought it for just two of the tracks, Mountain Greenery, by Mel Torme, and the delightfully titled,When Mexico Gave up The Rumba....by Mitchell Torok Another wonderful song of his, 'Caribbean' may appear one day, but I'm not holding my breath on it. A cousin of mine back in the fifties used to have three sozzled songs in his tipsy repertoire, the two Torok numbers and ' Goodbye' by that wonderful Irish tenor Joseph Locke, which also sadly doesn't appear on this CD! Ha ha! Notwithstanding my two fave' tracks ,there are some smashers on here, Del Shannon's Two Kinds of Teardrops, ( what a hugely underrated singer he was!) and the 'full' version of 'Multiplication' by Bobby Darin, including thank goodness those immortal spoken words at the end of the tune, 'They'd better!' It's one of those really good 'driving' CD's, A crackingly good purchase.
