Great set of well written and thoughtful tunes with clever and sad lyrics. The band have changed their sound a little and the glitches and fuzz from previous albums has become violin sighs and the brush of a piano in an album that really sits together well and ranges from slow and beautiful to enthralling and eye-blinkingly distorted. A more rustic and less lolloping Elbow, a less obtuse and more soulful Radiohead, The National if they were from a rainy Scottish village. I'm putting these comparisons in to prick attention where it needs to be as this really is a record deserving of your time, but Meursault sound most like themselves nowadays. Enjoy. Then get the back catalogue.
