3 disk vinyl version - disappointing
on 26 October 2016
This is a review of the 3 blue vinyl LP version: As an LP set this is very good value for three disks. That's where it stops however as the sound isn't a patch on the CD version of this album. As others' have mentioned, Keith's drums are mixed right down. The introduction and all the chat between the songs has been removed and the applause is so muted or in some cases removed to the extent you would hardly think it was live which is very strange. It sort of defeats the object of a live album in my opinion. The sleeve notes mention the introduction of "a very nice band from Shepherd's Bush..." and Pete's "smile you buggers, pretend it's Christmas" after the first song but these have been edited out from this version. Unless you really want the LP version or one which looks very nice on blue vinyl do yourself a favour and get the CD version which, as the sleeve notes say, make you feel like you are there because this one doesn't. Very disappointing.
