This CD collection is ideal for fans of Rockabilly music, especially to those wanting to find those recordings that don't seem to pop up on many other compilations.

In total, there are 75 songs spread across 3 CD's. There are none of the so called 'big names' of Rockabilly featured here- so there's no recordings by the likes of Elvis Presley, Wanda Jackson, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Carl Perkins etc. Instead of those names, you'll be getting the likes of Ray Smith with the swingin' 'Gone Baby Gone', Daryl Britt with boppin' 'Lover Lover' and Don Willis' thumpin' 'Boppin' High School Baby' (Probably not as rare, however it's still a great track to have in your collection!)

In addition, the sound quality is very good and there are a few inner sleeve notes. One small thing I should point out is that the sleeve notes talk about Ray Smith. The Ray Smith these notes are talking about is NOT for the Ray Smith featured in this CD collection, but the notes are talking about the Ray Smith that recorded for Sun Records. However, I'm just being picky here and can't seem to fault what is an excellent product.

One Day Music have done a great job in picking out these songs and for making an album like this- it makes a change from the Rockabilly albums that are released that feature the same old 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'That's All Right', 'Ooby Dooby' etc.

So, if you're looking for a Rockabilly album full of rockin' obscurities, get this album now! You won't be disappointed!

3 excellent Discs That really are as the Title States. To try to obtain these fantastic tracks on vinyl originals would not only cost you an arm and a leg it would also take a life time to do so. No self respecting Rockabilly lover should be without this well presented Triple Album in their collection. 75 impressive tracks on Discs made to resemble 45's .Great presentation, and great price.

REAL RARE ROCKABILLY, DAY3CD010

This 3 CD set has a total running time of approx 160 minutes. The liner notes are by regular contributor Brian Parks.

Here are few details about a few of the performers included in the 75 track retrospective...

Dickie Damron's first sessions were recorded in 1958 at the C.K.R.D. studio in Red Deer. "Rockin' Party" b/w "Gonna Have A Party" on their Laurel label and it is thought the sessions were recorded on a Crown two-track recorder.

Slim Dortch
1964,RCA mx code,Eugenia (Tenn.)1001(pressed by RCA), Big Boy Rock,R4KM-6309

Tracey Pendarvis is Tracy Pendarvis. The first single (Scott 1202) coupled It Don't Pay and One of These Days.

Curtis Hobock, not too sure if this is actually Curtis Hobeck but records show born 1926 in Humboldt, Tenn, USA and died in 1988. Appears to have worked initially as Curtis Hobock And The Stardusters.

Carl Robert Belew, born 21 April,1931 in Salina, Oklahoma and died 31 October,1990 was an American country music singer and songwriter. Belew recorded for Decca, RCA Victor, andMCA in the 1950s through 1970s, charting 11 times on Hot Country Songs. He also wrote singles for Johnnie & Jack, Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves, and others.

Kennie Parchman born Kenneth W. Parchman, Jackson, Tennessee on 15 January, 1932; died near Madison, Tennessee on 2 June, 1999 was a rockabilly musician associated to Sun Records. Although largely forgotten in his native US he developed a following in Europe.

The Braves, Woodpecker Rock -- The Braves / Vocal, Nat Couty, recorded February 1958.

The sound transfers are very good considering the rare recordings to be heard within the collection and this is certainly a set that will be sought after by the many Rockabilly fans out there...Pricewise great value but then this is what One Day Music offer time after time.

This 3 CD set is for the rockabilly purists. Some of the tracks here are of not the best quality, and makes you wonder why they are included. The CD set is just what it says on the label and if you want the more obscure then this is for you without doubt.

This is yet another collection of rocking music that used to make my world go round and am in debt to the compiler/s of this collection, it contains many numbers that I have never heard of before. A great compilation.

Despite already having a number of these tracks , this is a superb collection of rocking items which I'm pleased I purchased. It is a bargain at this price, and it always amazes me that so many fantastic records were made that never saw the light of day outside of their immediate local area. Surely Larry Donn's track ("Honey Bun") should have been an international hit, if there was any justice? There are a few more tracks here that deserved a wider audience when they were first issued as well (in my opinion).

The title sums it up perfectly a CD full of the more rare tracks than you would normally find on a commercial CD - I would recommend this to any rockabilly fan
