Insightful, enjoyable to read and focussed on the key issues surrounding 'change management', this is an excellent resource for any senior manager or executive. As the author (a highly experienced consultant and change leader) correctly notes, there is a plethora of literature on 'change' and 'change management'. Most of these books dive straight into answering the 'hows' and 'whys' of 'change management'. This book is different and important in this respect. Whilst answering these two questions, more importantly it also thoughtfully considers the seldom asked question of 'what is change management?' In doing so, it is a much more powerful and useful book than similar titles.
Concise, well-written and helpfully structured, the book and issues are brought to life with interesting real-life case studies and examples - I found these particularly illuminating. The book also deals with important issues around 'change management', including what the roles and responsibilities of change leaders are; how to measure to change; and an inventory toolkit and tips for enacting change. Highly recommended.
