The book covers most aspects linked to strategy but falls down when it come to talking about tools & techniques. For those who want theory this is a worthy read.

What one would really like to see is an end-to-end story of how a strategy was created and put into practice with a critique from the author.

I am keeping book as reference and would consider recommending it to people new to Strategy or those interested in going beyond awareness.

quite concise and easy to understand and digest with up to date business cases. short chapters and referencing are very readers friendly.Perhaps the strategy tools need more elaborating. would recommend to anyone for a quick refresh of strategy study.

A brilliantly succinct book that brings strategy planning and implementation down from the vaporous conceptual heights of theory and makes it concrete, practical and accessible.

Max Mckeown's The Strategy Book is structured, well-written and actionable starting with a reflective look on personal skills as a strategist, exploring development of strategy and then implementation and management. The last section includes over two dozen models that you can use for analysing your market, your organisation and your strategy.

His methodology and philosophy pulls together the best parts of emergent, learning and formal strategy synthesis and he encourages regular review and course adjustment.

This book belongs on the desk of anyone who considers themselves a strategic thinker from the CEO down to design strategists and project managers.

What a great resource for my MBA assignment! Easy to read and apply the sections and tools you require, and return to the book at any time. Looking forward to reading Max's Innovation Book next.

Content is a bit basic, but some good models included, probably excellent reading for someone new to strategy work rather than a seasoned professional.

Its tone is "how to get on in a big organisation and look good to your boss" which I found irritating and potentially dangerous for naive reader.

It sits on my to be read list. Hopefully it won't end up on the holiday reading lit. I will get to it

What a load of waffle, perpetuating the myth that strategy is all about people who don't know how to implement!
