TOP 500 REVIEWERon 29 February 2016
Over the years, the songs of the late, influential singer-songwriter Tim Hardin (1941-1980) have been recorded by many artists, including stone-cold musical icons like Scott Walker and Marianne Faithfull, but all of the much lesser known indie artists featured on here also recorded their favourite Hardin songs especially for this tribute album, which was released three years ago.

Rather than simply coping these timeless tunes in an almost identical way to sound like the original, and by doing so, risking the album sounding something like a collection of soulless, inferior karaoke versions, these talented artists have interpreted their choices in their own way, and often, manage to breathe new life into each, making them sound fresh, different, and contemporary.

I've always loved Tim Hardin's work and this is a superb collection that I've been playing for months now and that really does justice to Hardin's genius. Worth the price even if it were only for Mark Lanegan and the Smoke Fairies' stunning contributions.

The artists invloved have created a great tribute to Tim hardin. Their interpretations whilst modern carefully respect the message in the song
