:-D My Cat Prefers The Box
on 27 June 2015
When I first opened the parcel, my cat (neutered male, then 1 1/2 years old) was keen and wanted to start playing even before I had finished assembling this. This seemed promising.
Alas, once it was ready, he played enjoyed it for one day. On the second day, he used it as a cat bed. And then he ignored it completely.
The box the toy came in, on the other hand, held his interest for much longer.
I put it away for a year and got it out again. Once again, he enjoyed it briefly, then lost interest.
The toy is practical and sturdy, easy to assemble and easy to clean, and I like that the parts can be arranged differently. The up-and-down parts create a different rhythm for the ball's movement. I think the speed at which the ball moves is simply too slow to attract my cat's interest.
I believe this toy is much more enjoyable for a pair of cats playing together, each sitting at one end, batting the ball at each other. For a single cat there just isn't much excitement to be had. At least not for my cat. Yours may be think differently.
I'm attaching some photos.
I may donate this toy to cat shelter or give it to people who have more than one cat.
