It's not all that it's made out to be

In a nutshell,
- This book will not give you a comprehensive step by step guide on how to draw cars. There is a section on sketching out a concept car but it's basic at best.
- This book will also not tell you much about the use of proportion, light, texture, ratios, area, stance or wheel to body relations which are all fundamentally foundation points of car design.
- This book will give you an insight into car design, some interesting POV articles from lead car designers and rather weirdly some students, who I imagine were used to act as filler as the majority of their input is the usual millennial waffle like 'wanting to make an impact on the world'.
If you want to know how a design works, how lines flow through a body and how light and form is used, how past designs reflect in today's models and all the little tricks and tips are used to produce a beautiful automotive design..... look elsewhere. This is a nice book to accompany others but it's certainly not the car designers bible.
If you want a history of car design and how cars are actually designed and the methodology behind it I'd recommend 'Speed Read Car Design' by Tony Lewin
