This is a great book for anyone wanting to know more about Employment Law. Paul Gander has made a complicated subject simple and entertaining to read about and I am sure that anyone with questions about what rights they have as an employee will find them answered here. All too often, people have to engage expensive legal specialists to understand what they are entitled to in times of change and upheaval, and all too often people are treated unfairly by their employers often without even realising they are. Get the knowledge from this book and be prepared should difficulties arise. I also, as owner of a small business and an employer myself, found this a useful reminder of what my responsibilities are to my employees.
Having been in a similar situation to the author, I was left feeling stranded and alone.
Just a tiny amount of insight worked wonders and having this insight directed me to a lawyer who was able to put me at ease and completely depersonalise what was happening and take the emotion out of it.
Anyone who's been on the receiving end of an employment termination feels incredibly small in a true David and Goliath sort of way. A little knowledge from this book goes a long way to beating the perceived corporate Goliaths of the business world.
