There are some enjoyable moments in this but they are sparce, the main ones being one or two choice of music placed in the film, and the scenery and the acting was very good. However this is predominantly a depressing and negative film, although you could say that its then more true to life, however the serial killing seems to take into the surreal or the plain nasty, even if meant as black comedy. Edgy and tries to be a bit different yet is dull and boring in places.
It seems being National lottery funded they were restricted and had to play it down and not go too far regards the humour. Could have been funnier, nevertheless it does keep things real and for the most part it does take you on a trip, if only one where the sightseers are fed up with life and their own mediocrity and would rather kill and jump off a bridge than try and mend their own broken lives.

Not for the easily-offended, that's for sure, but if you like a bit of tongue-in-cheek dark humour then this film is for you! It's very surreal, and there are some quite shocking scenes but it is so very, very funny that it's impossible not to like it. And there are some great lines that cracked me up such as "You're not a friend. You're just a relative", "He's not a person, he's a Daily Mail reader", and of course "The police announced today that they're pursuing a ginger-faced man and an angry woman in connection with inquiries".

The wonderful scenery and great soundtrack are a fitting backdrop to a very good film - it's not in the same league as "Hot Fuzz", for example (no cameos from the likes of Cate Blanchett and Peter Jackson, either), but I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable and refreshingly different.

Some awful scenes, it is a truly very dark black comedy, but I am bucking the trend and giving it five stars because it is well produced, directed and acted. It is also shot on location in Derbyshire's Peak District and area. There are interesting scenes shot on location at the wonderful Crich Tramway Museum and one on board a moving tram at the museum. There is a lot about the film that is worth watching even though some of the scenes are odious to say the very least.

I really like this on my first viewing on DVD & so I wanted it on blu ray, then I watched it again once I recieved the blu ray, and I wasn't as enthusiastic on this second viewing. it has it's moments but it has a overbearing depresssing feel to it that made me feel uncomfortable.

This is a great film. Much better than that Hollywood tripe and worth the money just to see the bit with a giant pencil. That's right a giant pencil.

This film is hugely underrated. It is unexpectedly brilliant, funny and tongue in cheek. A must watch for sure.

Talk about bleak, funny, macabre, disturbing. Has some real comedy gems, & straight-faced funny moments.
