Another high quality offering from Osprey's successful "Aircraft of the Aces" series. Follows the development of the air war in relation to the aces and unlike most of the others in the Aces' series, covers a wide variety of aircraft types. For this reason it is a very good primer for the subject which can lead the reader into the other Aces' titles by specific aircraft type. As usual a large amount of photographs and a number of colour profiles of the aces' mounts.
A good concise summary of the aces, their aircraft, units and activities with some useful colour profiles. It covers all the main aircraft used and some lesser lights like the DH5. Highly recommended as an introduction for more detailed reading.
