Here we are with Part 6 of this series and three re-recordings this time round which are:

Disc 1 Track 07. Foot Tapper - The Shadows
Disc 1 Track 18. Putting On The Style - Lonnie Donegan
Disc 1 Track 24. Lonely Boy - Paul Anka

Surely the compilers realise that these three tracks are re-recordings so why do they do it??????

If you are a fan of Dreamboats and Petticoats you will need to add Dancehall Days to your collection. Fantastic collection of songs from a great music era. I love it and never stop playing it. Great back ground music...
Great service from Amazon arrived very quickly.
Very happy. Looking forward to number 7.

this continues to be a terrific series of 'music' magic so many of us
treasure with great fondness.
this compilation blends one or two of the many names that continued to 'chart'
during the 'rock'n'roll'explosion of the mid fifties and on into the early sixties.
the collection follows the journey of 'rock' along with a sample of 'skiffle' which
was pioneered in the 'u.k' by 'lonnie donnegan' at a similar point in time.
'rock'n'roll' sat nicely alongside the emerging era of 'pop' in the late fifties
which saw artists such as 'cliff' 'buddy holly' 'the everly's' 'marty wilde'
and 'bobby vee' burst onto the scene, highlighting just one or two of the 'pop' heroes
included on board.
also nice to see acts such as 'del shannon' 'paul anka' 'frankie vaughan' 'anthony newley'
and 'the batchelors' included on the play-list as well as many treasured and never
forgotten acts from way-back-when.
as is the case with many compilations there are one or two 'B-sides' on board, though
overall i have to say 'what a great mix'again for us to sit back and enjoy.

Excellent CD sound much improved on the old LPs & 45s. Sister would have loved it., they are based on shows that are on in Blackpool this year. If you want to see them I can tell you the show will not disappoint if you like this type of music.

Good colection of classic and whel known rock and Roll tracks by origional artists - although not always by the best known singer of a paticular track.
As such it will alow some comparisons with the 'classic renditions' and you will have the classics on single artis CD, MP3 anyway

Bit disappointed as the original I purchased was faulty when we got to the second disc. However having bought many CDs from Amazon we thought it was a one off so repurchased so far not had the chance to play second disc, but first is playing ok.

I will live with a bit of duplication but the Puttin On the Style track by Lonnie Donnegan is nothing at all like the original, it is almost a different song. It sounds like it was recorded live at a much later date and compared to the original it is truly awful! If you cannot get a copy of the original don't include it!

I would have given this five stars but that track is worth at least losing a star!

Had a little trouble with iTunes as others have mentioned, it reconises the song titles but not the album cover, this is usually because the name of the album doesn't EXACTLY match that of Apples database however when correcting this only half of the songs now have an album cover, real pain in the backside but the grandparents were happy with the CD so 4*
