Some may call it Art-House while others may call it pretentious claptrap but I liked this film. Very interesting plot of a female Wall-of-Death rider who may have been a porn actress being invited to stay at an aristocratic family's castle. The film plays out like a series of enigmatic scenes which may not be all they seem with something about the second world war and finally a strange transposition of characters. Very sexy in Radley Metzger style and it certainly kept my attention wondering how it would all play out.

If you want to see this film, I wouls suggest getting the UK Blu-ray disc which is superb and claims to be uncut and uncensored for the first time in the UK. The Blu-ray disc from Arrow Entertainment is a dual-format production which includes both Blu-ray and DVD discs and a booklet. The Blu-ray also contains loads of extras such as commentaries, other scenes and behind-the-scenes. Well worth it in my view.

Oh, dear! This has to be one of the all-time stinkers. Whoever described it as a classic should be prosecuted.

A couple who live in a castle watch a grainy black and white stag film with their son. They go to a carnival where the see the woman in the film wide a motorcycle inside a barrel. They invite her back to the castle, but when they show her film, there is a different person in it. She spends the night and the next day satisfies each on them individually and then we have a great Twilight Zone ending.

Yes I liked the ending. I didn't mind all the nudity it took to get there, it was just that it was repetitious and grew boring.

Amazingly well-filmed, acted and scripted, with the absolutely stunning Silvana Venturelli in the lead role. The Blu Ray is absolutely superb. I don't think the film would shock anyone today. It is much much better than the cringe-inducing 'sexadelic' films with which it is generally lumped. However, if you only want to watch a soft-core porno, you'd probably find more fun elsewhere

If you want a memory/fantasy film you are much better off with the long "Celine and Julie Go Boating". If you want attractive naked women then there are a wealth of much better alternatives. This movie is slow and tedious and despite. The acting is minimalist at best and the long silences - presumably meant to be heavy with anticipation and mystery - merely slow down an already snail pace movie.

I first heard of Radley Metzger when I recently watched 'Camille 2000', a poignant modernisation of Alexandre Dumas' "The Lady of the Camellias" (which was also the basis for Verdi's "La Traviata"). It was with some trepidation that I bought 'The Lickerish Quartet', in a lurid "sexadelic!" box that more than outdid the suggestive title.

And it turned out to be a surprisingly good movie - perhaps because it was not at all what I had judged by the cover. It's a rather surreal story of a dysfunctional family, who decide to have a bit of fun with a young girl they think they recognise from a blue movie, only to have the tables turned on them in bizarre fashion.

While there are touches of eroticism, they are by no means overdone, and this is no simple sexploitation movie. There are touches of which David Lynch might have been proud, with odd 'flash-back' cuts (or are they flash-forwards?), characters who switch identities, and a very blurred line between reality and the movie-within-the-movie. Although the acting is a little pedestrian, the cinematography is excellent. I can't help feeling the film better deserved its original title, "Hide and Seek".

All in all a pleasant surprise that leaves me curious to see more of Radley Metzger's work.

Rubbish, very dated, wooden actors and about as erotic as watching Pinnochio.
