"Made Possible" delivers everything The Bad Plus is known for, while also being unique in their discography as their first album to fully incorporate electronic drums and synthesizers into their 'traditional' sound. The results range from subtle (the twinkly synth arpeggios in the background of "Pound for Pound") to bold (the bemusing 8-bit-video-game-boss-level synth melody of "Re-Elect That"), but the results are always well integrated.
If you're already a fan of The Bad Plus, this album will very probably satisfy you. If you're not yet a fan, this seems as good a place as any to start - apart from a live concert, where you can see the sheer joy that Dave, Ethan and Reid clearly feel when making their music.
Virtuosity is taken for granted. This is no imitation or revamped masters, this is new music. The drive, the riff, the tenacity, the novelty, the spirit, the sound attack are breathtaking. They are not afraid. Best parts are on par with Keith Jarrett going high.
