I bought this book after reading the BBC News article of Neda Soltani's story.
on 6 December 2012
I don't often read non-fiction but I was gripped by this book from start to finish.
Soltani's description of growing up in Iran against the backdrop of the 1979 Revolution and the Iran-Iraq war is so insightful and a great way to learn about recent history. It's fascinating how a respected academic could so unintentionally become an enemy of the state and in turn her experience of becoming a refugee in Western Europe is a valuable resource. A worthwhile read.
