This book started out well, a couple with a young daughter rent a farm , looking for a break from the violence of city life. The husband goes down to the village pub to have a few drinks and one of the locals gets chatty. He tells him the history of the farmhouse, how every twenty six years something comes out of the corn field and goes on a killing frenzy. And guess what? That night was the night it would all happen again!
This story would be a lot shorter if the author had not kept repeating the killing frenzy over and over again. It became very repetitive and the ending was a little abrupt. If
the characters had as many deep stab wounds and lost as much blood as they did in this story they would not have survived in reality! Sorry couldn't give it more than three stars.

This was truly horror at it's best. I felt every moment of the living nightmare that the family endured. I look forward to reading more from this author, although I cringe a little at the thought of what awaits me.

This was the 3rd book by Kimberly A. Bettes I have read, I thought the plot was great but quite poorly written and quite a few times whilst reading I found myself thinking 'You just would't do that in this situation, you would do this!'. I think this writer has great story ideas but the actual writing lets them down, I dont think I will read any more books by this author.

A good book, plenty of scares (can imagine this as a film.... it would be VERY scary!!). Was quite annoyed with the main character though - who basically left his wife and daughter in a dangerous situation while he sat in the pub drinking... it seemed to take him far too long to realise that the 'action' was going to take place on the very night he chose to sit around drinking! Apart form him being pretty hopeless, it was a good read!
