I've read some of the previous comments and surprised at what people have written. Firstly I do work in IT and have some experience of networks. I did the "manual" way by connecting it to a laptop via a network cable and followed the instructions TO THE LETTER. It found my main wireless router (BT Home Hub 3) and I just followed the wizard. After configuration it suggested a name for the AP. I gave it a slightly different one so I could connect to it. Then it all worked tickety boo down stairs. So the 4 star rating because it was easy to configure. You may have problems if your laptop / pc has a different network addressing scheme. Most systems default to 192.168.1.XXX scheme. Also some have the Sky Router, which is not that great performance wise. I will report again in a couple of months to see what the reliability is like. But so far, so good....

Set up was very difficult and only resolved by phoning ZyXEL. Following the documentation did not work. Not sure what the problem was because Tech Support guy told me what to do over the phone but did not have time for a fuller explanation.

Bandwidth on a smartTV for Iplayer is not really adequate on occasions. May go to a mains plug carrier type system in future depending on performance of existing system long term.

Easy to set up, I did it manually with supplied cable . Could only get wireless signal upstairs if bedroom doors were open, now full signal in all rooms. Plugged on at bottom of stairs. You have to use the same password as your router and log on to the Zyxel extender when you loose signal from the router. You can name the Zyxel anything you want. You will see both networks when you scan.

Incredibly easy to set up (initially it looks pretty daunting from the instructions that are supplied with it). Signal boosted perfectly

The range extender works very well but the instructions were far from clear. The set up is very simple but this is not described in the leaflets that accompanied it. I had to cakll the supplier and as before they were very helfpul talking me through the set up. Not exactly plug and play but I cant think of anything with that description that is.

Excellent start then very intermittent with really awkward resetting procedures.

Instructions are rubbish... Indications are that it is plug and play but definitelly is not. Will struggle on and try to get advice from an "expert"

Will not allow me internet access even with a good signal from router. No reply from customer service so item is still in box, rather disappointed after reading review

Had to return this as it did not work after several attempts. Shame as it looks well made and others have liked it
