I took my 2 girls to Rome for 5 days. We did use this guide in preparation for the holiday and saw some of the great free places. It gave me the tip that teachers get reduced entry to some sites, so I took my work name label and passport to the Colosseum....it worked!
On an additional note, read the entrance fees notice carefully - my 17 year old daughter got in free to the Colosseum, as young people under 18 who are EU residents get this free entry! You need to show your passport. Also the Colosseum ticket gets you in to the Forum and Palatine hill within 48 hours! Hang onto the ticket!
As well as great info, it encouraged me to read the entrance fees notice, which saved me money!
